Minimum attendance :6 participants
Level requirements :Walking: Relatively easy walks (3–5 hours per day), good start for a first trekking holiday. The walking is on a mixture of dirt tracks and well – constructed stone mule paths. Our trips are designed for active people who enjoy trekking, even going up steep hills. We expect participants to be in good physical condition. We typically walk along either dirt roads or stony footpaths, some of which can be irregular underfoot. On the coast we also walk on sand and shingle for some stretches. A stick may be useful. Sailing: Any type of sailing skills are welcomed. Individuals familiar with the concept of sailing are more than welcomed to assist our certified skipper throughout the journey. This journey is also a magnificent opportunity for people with less or no experience to learn basic and fundamental principles of the art of sailing.

Day 1: Arrival in Athens

Upon arrival setle to our hotel in Athens. In the evening meet with your guide for a short walking tour of Athens and enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Greek tavern in the old part of Athens, in Plaka, overlooking the Acropolis.
Mode of transportation: Private A/C motor coach, walking.

Day 2: Athens Sightseeing - Serifos

After breakfast, half day sightseeing tour of Athens, the hostess of the Olympic Games in 2004. Visit Acropolis, the greatest monument in the Western world, the Parthenon and Panathinaikon Stadium, the stadium where the first Olympic games were held in 1896, and the New Acropolis museum.Lunch at the Acropolis museum restaurant.Early in the afternoon (approximately at 15:00 o’clock) we head to the island of Serifos by high-speed ferry from Piraeus. (Duration of trip approximately 2 hours).

After disembarkation we begin to experience an amazing hike from the port, through the amazing Chora (town) of Serifos, ending in the evening at the beach of Psili Ammos, where our sailing boat will be waiting for us! After we settle to our cabins, we will enjoy our first wonderful dinner on board.(Duration of trekking: appx.3,5 hours)

Day 3: Sail to Milos

Your sailing holidays on the Greek islands, begin today! Early in the morning we sail to Milos. Milos is a volcanic island in the south-western corner of the Cycladic islands. It is mostly famous from the statue of Venus of Milo (Aphrodite), a fine piece of Greek ancient art, that was discovered on this island and it is today hosted in the Louvre Museum, Paris. Our catamaran will disembark us at the fishing village of Pollonia, where our hike starts for today.

This trail gives us the chance to see the infamous Sarakiniko, with its lunar landscape and Papafraga, the famous archaeological site of Filakopi (one of the most important cities of the Greek prehistoric era with ruins of the magnificent cyclopean walls) and the beautiful settlement of Mandrakia where we will end our expedition at its stunning beach with white sand and turquoise crystal clear waters. After our swim (optional), our boat will pick up us up in order to take us to the bay of Adamas, the largest natural harbor in Greece and one of the safest anchorage places in the entire Mediterranean.

Tonight we will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful town of Adamas and have the opportunity to sample the local cuisine in a local tavern. O/N in Adamas bay. (Duration of sail ca.4,5 hours, Duration of hike ca. 4 hours)

Day 4: Milos day trip around the island

Today’s sailing around the whole island takes us to colorful beaches, inviting sea caves, rare and extraordinary geological formations and amazing spots that can be only reached by boat. We get the opportunity to see the spectacular rock formations of Glaronissia, Arkoudes, Sikia and Kleftiko and also swim in breathtaking turquoise waters. Later in the evening we will sail to either Kimolos or Polyaigos in order for us to set anchor and be ready for our next day’s departure. Lunch on board / Dinner either on board or in Kimolos.

Day 5: Sail to Sifnos – Walk from Fykiada bay-Platys Gialos-Fykiada

This morning we begin our sailing experience headed to Sifnos, one of the most “fulfilled” Greek islands. Sifnos has very pleasant beaches, idyllic villages and a large variety of beautiful hikes. We have selected the best of them. Our boat will reach Fykiada bay, which is our hiking starting point for today. Today’s walk takes us literally away from modern civilization! It is a loop walk containing one of the best parts of the whole Sifnos trails network, the descent toward the bay of Fykiada. Our boat will pick us up to take us to the bay of Chrysopigi, where we will swim and rest for the day. Depending on weather we set our anchor either in Chrysopigi or in Faros village. Dinner on board. (Sailing duration: 2 hours, Hiking: ca. 4,5 hours)

Day 6: Hiking in Sifnos

Our hike takes us today from Kastro, the ancient capital of Sifnos and one of the best preserved ancient capitals of the Cyclades, to the modern capital of Sifnos, Apollonia. It is considered to be the cosmopolitan spot of Sifnos, full of shops, cafes and taverns. We will walk along the narrow, principal streets of the settlement.  It is a pleasant walk with architectural elements to be noticed, as well as some interesting churches. Our trail leads us to a hidden valley with the name of “Skafi”, ruined monasteries, caves, spectacular sea views as the one from the beautiful church of Panagia tou Niliou, with its “Aegean balcony”, where we will rest and have our picnic lunch. We continue to mavro Chorio (“Black Village”) with its impressive huts, terraces and magnificent gates. Our path leads us to the spring of Kalamitsi and between two huge crags, the “Froudia baronas” crags. On top of the larger crag, there is a prehistorical citadel. Through this ancient trail we continue our hike descending to the bay of Vathy, the most beautiful beach village on the island, where our boat awaits for us, preparing ourselves for a wonderful dip into the sea. Dinner at a wonderful local tavern in Vathi. (Hiking duration: 6hours)

Day 7: Sail to Kythnos (Kolones )

We sail to Kythnos (sailing duration ca. 5 hours) where we will relax and enjoy a “beach day” in Kolones, one of the most photographed beaches in Greece. Later in the evening we head to the port of Merichas, which is going to be our anchorage for tonight. Lunch on board and dinner in Merichas. (Total sailing time : 5,5 hours)

Day 8: Hike in Kythnos – Sail to Sounio

After our lovely breakfast on board we depart by private motor coach or taxis to the Chora of Kythnos, where our hike begins. This exceptional and long hike is considered to be one of the best on the Cycladic islands in general! After a short exploration of Chora and Panagia tou Nikous we will walk through amazing paths with wonderful views to the neighboring islands, crossing large flat stones toward Aghios Georgios and visit the virgin sandy beach of Aghios Ioannis. This loop walk takes us back to Chora, where our transfers will take us back to Merihas for a lovely afternoon sail to Sounio to visit the stunning temple of Poseidon at sunset…Picnic lunch / Farewell dinner on board under Poseidon’s temple or in Grecotel Cape Sounio Hotel. (Hiking duration: 3.5hours / Sailing duration: 3.2 hours)

Day 9: Departure day

Breakfast on board while we sail along the Athenian Riviera to reach the Alimos marina – end of services. (Sailing duration: 3 hours)
