Day 2 :Canoe Kayak Ancient Kirinthos and evening walking tour in Rovies village

The remains of Ancient Kirinthos, birthplace of Canthus the Argonaut, is a settlement at the beach of Kria Vrisi. Built between 1600-1000 BC, it was once one of Evia's biggest seven cities and participated in the Trojan Wars. The ancient city of Kirinthos is situated on a hill, on the eastern coast of N. Evia. The city was built on this beautiful location overlooking the sea, where the hilly stretch of land once formed a peninsula. Due to its position Homer had named Kirinthos "efalos" meaning above the sea, whereas Skymnos had named it "enalia" meaning inside the sea. The ancient city name probably derived from the flower Kirinthos. This trekking excursion is a unique activity leading to new destinations, filling you up with sea salt energy and views of vastness. Each participant will take home amazing memories and photographs.

Having returned to our base and after some time for relaxation we will enjoy an evening walking tour in the village of Rovies listening to myths and stories of yesterday from the locals and ending in a local tavern to enjoy a great meal.

Day 3:  River Trekking Bolovinena Gorge

The utopian Nileas Gorge will mesmerize you with its waterfalls, emerald pools, narrow caves and lush vegetation all around.

From our hotel, we head towards Bolovinena canyon. If the water is cold, we will dress up in neoprene wetsuits and head down the trail that overlooks the canyon, through pine, fir and oak trees. Within 15 minutes we reach the canyon entrance where we shall prepare for our first swim in Nileas river.  You won't be able to get enough of walking and swimming and vice-versa whilst admiring the natural surroundings!

This is the end of our short escape! Feeling like staying more, indulging more into cooking, tradition and other cultural elements of Evia? Interested in hiking or other outdoor options, looking just for a few days to relax by the seaside? Contact us and we will design an itinerary just for you!
